allows only thin line sharpie scribbles between classes. and lower case. so that's all that'll be up for a while. i am also the birthday fairy, so all my artmaking goes onto the door of neighbors upon thier natal days. Don't have much time for devart, which don't scare me much. let my inbox climb up to 2,000. Gee do i watch a lot of people.

I'm 18.

Eh yeah, pretty eventful year for most people...but I've already found that I don't like dancing(clubbing), smoking, or gambling. The only thing left, I guess, is legal reproductive maturity. Not doing much with that yet, but I am most likely heading to Yaoi Con in San Fran this fall.

Harry Potter season always rolls around the same time as my birthday, so I got the last few books as birthday presents. 7 included, which I finished late release day night. Interesting read, but rather patchy in writing quality. It was abysmal at spots, brilliant in others. But much better than the sixth, which I'm going to chalk up to JK Rowling's pregnancy hormones.

I went to a release party and won the "Harry Potter Spelling Bee," so now I have tickets to the Renaisaance fair, of all things. I would've liked a free copy of the book...or Harry Potter candy...but the Tinkerbell stickers they gave me instead should come in handy some day... They also had a raffle for a signed Mary Grand LePre (sp?) poster...wouldn't have minded that either, although she's been baffingly monochromatic lately.

oh yes, oh yes, art, I guess...I got a 4 on my AP portfolio, which is what I deserve, I guess, because they likely took off marks for anime influence and I wasn't as diligent as I could have been restraining myself...but I have been drawing some, I'm just working and trying to borrow better technology before I post.

ACEN news

I just about exhausted myself with this one.

I spent plenty of $$ but it was all worth of it so I don't care. Course i admit last year the pinch wasn't quite as severe because of artist alley, but I think about how much more mobility I had this time around and I figure it was way worth it.

So...on Friday I lived through two AP procedures (1 history, 1 portfolio turn in) to hang out with my friend the entire day! It was amazing, but I didn't want 6 hours in the line to get my badge (already paid for, but awaiting pick-up) so I *ahem* took the liberty of exploring the merchandise area badgeless for a few hours before getting it at the end of the day. In the artist alley I of course met up with :iconworldlystar:, my partner last year, who was a smashing success this one with her uber cute chibis. I also just about cleaned out :iconlicchan: and :iconfresh4u:'s boy/boy stock. *rolls eyes*

I have to attribute most of my fun to my friend V, though. Apart, we're moderately functional members of society, but together we become a riot of perversion and filthy obscenities. Super fun, especially while hanging at the yaoi table. :-P Ah, the boy love floweth at ACEN...including one half-naked catboy, one guy/guy kiss, and a very prolonged fangirl squeal.

Ok...onto Saturday. I dressed up as a disgustingly cute angel flower girl in a pink dress, hauling a basket of fresh lilies-of-the-valley. People loved the flowers I gave them. And they actually said I looked cute and happily snapped my pic. PSH! Try saying that without the makeup! XD. But I got a picture with an unidentified tall angel boy! <3 Hot. Lots of cosplay, FMA and Melancholy of Haruhi and Naruto this year, but I gotta say completely and utterly hypocritically, that the goth-loli got out of hand. They looked fine, but I prefer working towards looking like a certain character from a series, which is very hard! That said, I was in a generic SWEET Loli outfit and...

SUNDAY! I was a model in the GOTHIC LOLITA SHOW!!! LOL! hosted by the most foul-mouthed lolis who ever lived,  but they do know thier loli from buying to sowing to culture. I was a sailor and a punk. I almost wrecked the show by destroying a skirt and  dressing up in the wrong order. XP Went awesome in the end though. Sunday was kinda funny coz my mom insisted on coming (Mother's day?) and unfortunately, V got sick. :-( but of course SHE FRICKING PASSED IT ONTO ME!! So now I'm sick. But I can't be too mad at her because she's half of con love. We spent the entire week living on a Dunkin Donuts coupon book. :-D

I wanna give away art but not sell it, so next year maybe I'll take the table space and uh...hand stuff out... i can dance on the tabletops like a fool! :-DD

yeah I'm on cold meds right now...last time this happened I lost a college scholarship. *giggle*

On a side note! :iconcosmicspectrumm: is god! She did my commish www.deviantart.com/deviation/5… I've been balking at art because I'm burned out from my portfolio, but now I'm inspired to revise Tairry and Vega coz Mello made em look so cool! I wanna update with appropriate coolness. :-D

I gotta ask... do the people who manage ACEN figure that anime fans can't be very good  students? They always seem to schedule the con right in the middle of testing season. AP, SAT, and ACT tests, mostly of them impossible to reschedule (and if you do, they give you the harder version of the test for the make-up date), coincidence with ACEN this year. They coincidenced with ACEN last year. Last year ACEN was May 6-9,  like it had been for years.  When they reworked the AP schedule for this year (I figured good, this means ACEN will be out of the way by then) ACEN changed to be the same week as AP's again.

AP's are 3 hour tests that can follow one after the other depending on how many classes you take. They're the final test after taking college level classes early, and can earn you college credit if you score high. SAT's are SAT's. Last year I missed exactly half of con because of thee two.

This year I have another five AP's tests/evaluations to attend to, killing my con schedule again. I'm not freaking out about it (I worked all year for those AP's, so might as well see them through...) but it's a little dispiriting that I won't be able to make one full con as a highschooler, especially after last year's disappointment.

This testing schedule effects 14-20 year olds, about. Seems like the right range for most anime fans to fall into.

Maybe I should just bring it up to the ACEN people.
